Really!!! That's interesting. I'm not really sure how you are defining the word "eerie" so maybe that makes a difference (or maybe I've interpreted so many death records now that I've become desensitized! I hope not.) Certainly seeing the word "cadavere" hasn't been the norm in the Italian civil records that I have seen. I'd say it is more common in church records. It was certainly the norm to see it written in these death records from Montese in 1812. As more records are being put on line we are always learning new words and terminology which makes it really interesting

Thank you both for the help and information. Understanding that Maria was still living narrows down her death, as when her daughter (Elisabetta) was married in 1822 neither parent was living. Now knowing the mother's name helps as to where Elisabetta name came from, as it looks likely named after her grandmother .
Maserno is a small farming village based on what I know, most of this part of my family continued to live there based on the research thus far. I wonder if perhaps at this time it was "new" so they referred to it as a settlement.

The word before Maria Bernadei is "superstite" i.e. surviving/survivor meaning she was still living.
I think that in this case the word "paciamenti" possible means settlement???? but I am not 100% sure about that. Maserno is a little village close to Montese as I understand it.

Perfect. Parimenti makes better sense. I definitely knew she was still living and that peacefully definitely didn’t make sense, but misread the “r” for a “c” and wasn’t exactly sure what the word was. I’m glad you noticed my question mark. To me the important correction was that she was still living and not deceased, saving deigo1 time looking through previous death records. Thank you, as always.
