PS: Be careful about the spelling you use when requesting the birth record from Palermo. Almost certainly, "Bevilacqua" is the correct Italian spelling of his surname and, I would think, Salvadore but more likely Salvatore for the given name.

I concur with Johnny, the correct spelling is most certainly SALVATORE BEVILAQUA. I will take a look at immigration records into the port of New Orleans and see what turns up.

Another New Orleans manifest for 1896...Salvatore Beulacqua (poor transcription?)

Not much information on this manifest. Age is 18.

All of these Salvatore's that I have seen are at least 10 years off...perhaps a situation where the person has lied about the age on US documents such as the census, ect.??? :?

Wow! This has turned out to be easier than I expected. I believe you are speaking with family of mine who happens to be searching for the same information as me. The manifesto that has Salvatore Bevilacaqua seems to be the correct one because of the age. 21. His New Orleans marriage certification says he was married in 1908 to Giovannina Michele...he was 21, she was 18. Our family spells the name Bivalacqua.

Ancestry has ship arrivals to New Orleans with actual image, I believe the New Orleans archive has an index of passenger arrivals, but no images.

If we can help locate something, let us know! :D
