Thanks suanj! Very good finds with a good possibility. It seems that some of it matches very well.

Yesterday I located a Camden, NJ marriage record that provided names for Domenico's parents.

Domenico's father's first name is Michele.
Domenico's mother's maiden name is Lappara. No first name is listed for his mother, unfortunately.
No specific Italian town is listed for Domenico or his parents.

On this record the spelling of Domenico's last name is Piraina.

He is listed as 28 years old in 1914. So I now have several age listings that make his birth year sometime between 1884-1886.

It is hard to say the right birthplace; the surname spelling on marriage act is Piraina, but obviously is Piraino in italian spell...
Piraino is a surname of south Italy... ( Calabria and Sicily regions especially) but the mother mayden name...:
Lappara... ???
It could be Lappano??
