Re: Birth records from Portugal - specifically from San Miguel
Let me know if you need help. I don't have any relatives on Sao Miguel, but I may be able to point you in the right direction. Also there is an Azores facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/azoresgenealogy/ and an Azores forum https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/azores which can provide ...

Re: Birth records from Portugal - specifically from San Miguel
I am assuming you are looking for info on Sao Miguel, Azores Islands, Portugal. To find your family you need to know the "Concelho"/municipality ( Sao Miguel has 6) and then the freguesia/parish where your family lived. There are several freguesia in each Concelho.

Re: Name of this Italian Pastry?
Thanks, however, the mystery has been solved. This was the Portuguese version of an Italian recipe for this type of pastry. It was called rosquilha--so not an Italian name.

Re: Looking for family of Priscilla Paolella b. about 1909
Thanks, for that post. I just wish I could have known this branch of my mother's family. I did not know of their existence until quite recently, so any info is of great interest to me. Also, I don't know any other Priscillas in the family, so that is a new one.

Looking for family of Priscilla Paolella b. about 1909
Through Ancestry I have discovered the name of a cousin named Priscilla Paolella born in Pennsylvania in about 1909 (not a typical Italian name?) to Vincenzo Paolella, (my great-grandfather's brother) and Luisa Ragozzino. The family lived on Morris Ave. in the Bronx in the 1930 census. This is all I ...

Looking for a recipe for a type of calzone
I am looking for the recipes for a type of calzone made by the people of Campania called "canashone" sp???. One was made with carmalized onions, black olives and anchovies, another was made with eggs, parmesan cheese and ham, a third was made with some kind of greens.

Re: Translation help Please
Thank you, that answers my question.
Yes, his mother's name was listed as Lucia d' Orta on his atti di nascita , and I thought pehaps Gaspare's father had married sisters, as Gaspare's brother's mother's name was Rosa d' Orta.
I found the atti di matrimonio so that is not a problem.

Re: Felice Valentino Morti
Good Morning Jim:
At this point I don't know anyone in my g-grandmother's ancestry. In searching for my g-grandfather Paolella, I also looked for Valentinos (his wife's family) I have found a few in SMCV but none so far, in SMLF. So, I just don't know about Donato and Maria Assunta, they just may ...
