Re: Need help with a Search in Family Search
Thank you Thank you !!
It turns out that the second link from mjclayton contains links to the letters D,E,F,G,H,I, but also the letters L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T(partial)
So there is a bit or redundancy, which is usually a good thing. Perhaps this is a case of FamilySearch re-scanning documents; or ...

Re: Finding Photos of Relatives
Ron,
This site provides phone numbers. The number of cold calls you make depends on how common or uncommon the name might be. If you know localities that will trim it down somewhat. Many people do not respond well to cold calls, even if they are the correct person. So it's up to you how much ...

Re: Finding Photos of Relatives
This site has proved of some use to me, but the "new and improved" (50% correct) version this year is not as good as it used to be.
How are you at cold calls? Good luck.

Re: Need help with a Search in Family Search
Wow, thanks Mark, now I can check Aiello and Caporrimo
Still on the search for the volumes of alphabet after letter I.
The urls of first and second volumes are similar up to a certain point, maybe I'll tinker some more, but not this week.

Need help with a Search in Family Search
Esteemed colleagues,
My search is not for a specific person or lineage; it is for a set of documents that, until this past week, I did not know were available on Family Search.
The city of Palermo created 10-year indexes for birth, death and marriage throughout the 19th century starting in 1820 ...

Changes in Family Search records for Palermo
Esteemed colleagues,
This is a first notice that Family Search has changed its presentation of civil records for Palermo, which I discovered while searching for an 1874 marriage that was no longer in the place where I used to find it. After some fiddling around in the inscrutable (to me - the only ...

Re: Need someone to get records/knows any 'SPAGNOTTO's'
Paul,
Not finding either Domenico 1886 nor Anna Maria 1887in the Nascita registers for Vallo Torinese in the Antenati records. Records there for Varisella do not cover the pertinent years. Alleged records are indicated in the FamilySearch catalog, but I do not find the registers to correspond with ...

Paul,
It will be helpful if you can provide the names and more details about your relatives. Perhaps you can provide the URL's of the records you found.

Re: RE: PALERMO DEATH INDEXES
This is not the first middle-of-the-day cursing of the darkness! Try these candles.
You will find that yes, three of the death indexes of interest have chunks out of sequence. But within chunks the records are in order. To the best of my knowledge, the ones that are messed up are:

translation of marginal note requested
Esteemed colleagues:
Here is a link to the birth of (#1284) Felicia Castellana. Can someone please translate the marginal note? I'm pretty sure that she married Tommasso Gambino in 1900, but this doesn't resemble other marriage notations that I've seen on birth records. Thanks.

Re: How to find a street address
Yikes, I didn't see the second page of this thread.
So there is discrepancy on Linda Sullivan's death certificate about the informant "miss Anna Sullivan" and her 1937 address and wouldn't she be going by her married name?
Regarding the ancestors of Bridget/Linda, the 1937 death certificate shows ...

Re: How to find a street address
If we examine the 1937 death certificate for Linda Sullivan:
https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/view/6681307
we find two pertinent addresses, with some fuzziness about the identity of the surrounding neighborhood. The front indicates 28-47 46th Street, Astoria and "LI". The second page ...
