Sorry, I missed the reply to this. I did mean the things you wear on your feet.
In Dunmore, the main cemeteries are mount carmel (off the o'neil highway) and St. Catherines in Moscow, PA. I am not sure when Italians from Scranton may have been buried.

Need help reading address
I am trying to make out an address from a ship manifest.
The person is Michele Colasurdo from Morrone del Sannio
This address should be in Long Island (City?) from about 1906

Re: WWI Uniform?
Thanks for the reply. I am unable to make out those as well even upon a close examination of the picture. I will see if I can look up some army infantry examples though.

Re: Need help translating a document to start back up
Thanks for the speedy response.
I never knew about the illiterate part by signing with a cross, very interesting.

Need help translating a document to start back up
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me translate this a bit to get the key information off it. This was my stopping point in research about a year ago and I need to get back into the swing. I am guessing it is a birth record since I see "given the name of" but cant make out the name.

LDS records for Capri
Can someone point me to the LDS records to Capri? I did a search of the catalog but didn't see them. Would they be included with Naples?

Question on Divorce in NYC early 1900's
I was looking at a paper from a divorce in Manhattan in the early 1900's and it had a couple of stipulations which I thought were odd for the time:
Wife got full custody of the children
Husband was not allowed to remarry while wife was alive.
Are these odd for the time period? and what could they ...

Re: Italian Ancestry
I found this thread while looking up some information on Caterino Brothers in Scranton. I will probably be going there this weekend to talk to them about some custom made shoes, so it appears the trade has been carried down.

Re: Contacting possible Italian relative
In one case it took close to three months for me to recieve a reply from a suspected (and later confirmed) relative. I think what had happened was they waited to give their daughter my e-mail so she could e-mail me. It was worth the wait as they have provided me with pictures of my ggg uncle and ...

Re: salvatore catuogno arrival records
Thanks for the suggestions, unfortnatly they dont appear to be him (although the naturalization is). He had no family which eliminated the first match and he always stayed in NYC which eliminated the second.
What would "jumping ship" entail, and would there be a record of it?

Totonno,
I didn't realize you were from Italy initially. PM and I can see about getting you in touch with them. As an aside, one of that branch was crowned queen of the WV Italian Heritage festival a few weeks ago.
