That is a wonderful idea. I have often thought when looking at their records how much knowledge is locked in the various items of information.
If you spend enough time with a town's records a subtle picture starts to emerge. At least it does for me and I guess that is one of the rewards and ...

Re: Does American version of name need to be amended?
I applied there ten years ago and was unable to get mine due to discrepancies in the spelling of my grandfathers last name and my mothers birth certificate name. I was unable to resolve it. A lawyer I hired that was recommended by the consulate was unable to amend my mothers spelling with my ...

Re: Anyone who knows Naples or Succivo?

Re: Dual Citizenship Question????
I am trying to get my dual citizenship but I am confused about one thing and I hope someone can help me. My great grandfather was born in Italy and came through Ellis Island. I can't find any records of him listed as getting a US citizenship. In 1930 he was still listed as a alien. My grnadmother ...

Re: NY Consulate timeline
After the years 2000-2003, I finally gave up as they seemed incapable of using basic logic and recommending a lawyer that only took my money and did not do anything for a year. I ended up going through two changes in the citizenship department and about six different appointments. So beware! When ...

Re: Italian Marriage Certificates
If they did register with the civil authorties it would be listed at the Stato de Civile, sometimes appended to the birth certificate of the woman if she is is fact from the comune where the marriage took place. I am not sure who issues the actual certificate.
Hope that helps.

Also.
Some towns in Central and Southern Italy have areas called contrada, occasionally you will see them referred to as Contrada ...... for example. In Calabria you will sometimes see actuall areas referred to in records as area or aria ..... with corresponding names.

Re: Any Information About the Province of Frosinone, Lazio
I do not think there is a town called just Lazio in the region of Lazio. There are some with Lazio on the end of the name. But there is an Alvito.
Unfortunately id does not have a website but this link does have some important data concerning Alvito. http://www.comuni-italiani.it/060/004/

Defazio, Carolina
:?:
I am looking for any info on Carolina Defazio, from the Catanzaro area, possibly Carlopoli - Castagna area. Came to the US in 1902, with two other sisters. One was called Giuseppina I believe.
Don't know if parents ever came. She was not naturalized. I have searched all regular databases and I ...
