Re: Lapetina and Bisaccia relatives
Thank you for both these posts. I have been to San Mauro with an Italian guide who was most helpful but unfortunately the church was closed when we visited. I will also continue to search the marriage and marriage bans records. I have used Family Search for that purpose before so I hope they have ...

Re: Lapetina and Bisaccia relatives
It's entirely possible. Maurantonio Bisaccia was born in San Mauro Forte Feb 23, 1862; Angela was born October 29, 1865. As you probably know, the same names often reappear in families that are related. The Rosario from my family was born in 1842 but her maiden name was Lacovara. She married ...

Re: Lapetina and Bisaccia relatives
My great grandparents on my father's paternal side were Guiseppe Lapetina and Angela Bisaccia. Angela's parents were Raffaele Bisaccia and Rosario Lacovera. Angela was born in 1865 so her father, Raffaele Bisaccia, can not be the same Raffaele Bisaccia in your family tree. However, coming from the ...

Re: Looking for Sessa relatives from Fisciano, Italy
this looks like a telephone listing. I will keep it in mind as I narrow down who the relatives are. I know that Sessa is a more common name in that area. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes - this is my grandmother and her sister concetta who arrived in US at the same time. She later married Mauro Lapetina in NYC and they had two children, Joseph and Angeline Lapetina. My father is Joseph Lapetina.

My thanks to everyone who replied. These are good suggestions. I am not too keen on taking the train but it might be easier to do than I think.

Hiring a private driver for tour of Pompei
I will be in Italy in october,2010 and will be in rome the week of Oct.24. Can anyone recommend a reliable tour operator who will drive me from rome to Pompeii as well as a side trip to the Archaelogical Museum in naples? I want to do a day trip but don't want a tourist trip to a cameo factory.

My great grandfather, Giuseppe Lapetina, was born in Tramutola, potenza in 1850. I am trying to locate any siblings or family members still living in Italy. He married Angela Bisaccia in San Mauro Forte, had 5 children, became an American citizen and after returning home to get his family, died ...

Michael - Good to hear from you again. I remember we corresponded before I went to Italy last fall. I had an excellent trip to San Mauro Forte this past October. Although I didn't get to see the church nor speak to the parish priest, I was able to find the house where my grandfather was born and ...
