I ordered and rec'd online what appears to be my GGF's military registration from Cosenza's web site. It showed he was in America at the time. When I sent the fee they wanted for it I told them that Altomonte the commune I was trying to get his birth certificate from doesn't respond and did they ...

Re: Not allowed certified copies of BC/Marriage/Death from I
I am still trying to get a birth certificate from cook co. IL from 1893 and a marriage certificate from 1910. I don't think the birth certificate of my GGM [NON ITALIAN SIDE] needs to be certified but the marriage does. I got nowhere e-mailing. They don't seem to understand their own web sites. You ...

That's why I posted it here. I don't know if NY will respond to someone in S.F. 's area. I already know S.F. won't respond.

Hi, I qualify for Italian citizenship through my GGF,GF,F. I have two children. I have never been married so didn't put their fathers name on the birth certificates. I thought it would just be easier. That has made them legally only my children. No problems so far. I just read on another site that ...

Re: Does American version of name need to be amended?

Re: Naturalization certificate
I need to get a marriage and birth certificate from Illinois and there site says they will not certify them because they don't do it beyond 70 years. The consult site states they must be certified? So maybe a letter like you got would work. I will need to make some calls and hope that is enough. I ...

I am collecting my documentation for Italian citizenship but it appears recent laws may prevent me from getting certified copies as the consult wants. Has anyone recently had to deal with Illinois. What can be done if they refuse to give certified copies of 100 year old birth or marriage ...
