To be honest, I'm not 100% certain regarding all of what it on them but among other things I am hoping to find the specific place my GGF came from (not just Italy), perhaps his trade, the port he traveled from and to, maybe the ship he travelled on.... Thank you for the pointer to this NARA website - it is exactly what I needed. It looks like the specific records I want will have to be requested from NY County's Old Records & Archival Materials Office [due to the date (1918) of the Naturalization Petition].

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply, Peter! So - any idea if Molinadi (I spelled it incorrectly before!) is a municipality somewhere in Italy? Do you have any suggestion on how I might find out where? I've googled "Molinadi" to no avail.... nothing that is just Molinadi - and no translation for that ...

I am researching my ancestors in Italy and am communicating with an Italian speaking relative there. He speaks little English and I speak no Italian, so it is very difficult! We compose our correspondence in our native language and then use translate.google.com to convert it to the other's language ...
