Re: Translation needed of email from Sicilian church
Thank you for the help! I am relying on a online translator to both write my emails in Italian and to decipher my responses. So sometimes there are some translations that seem alittle off. Not to mention I'm communicating with an Arbereshe community.

I appreciate the reply, I have actually gotten lots of info from that website already and sent an email to Leita just waiting on het reply.
Clesi is such a common surname from Contessa Entellina and New Orleans so I'm hoping my post gets noticed by some distant relatives.

Cara Melanie,Sono Leonardo Salvaggio Sindaco di Poggioreale. Ho fatto fare una prima ricerca negli archivi del Comune e ho notato che nel 1800 diverse famiglie portavano il cognome Manno.

Re: Francesco Manno/Mano & Gaetana DiGiovanna
Lots of great info! I am FLOORED to see the newspaper article from 1886. My grandmother was speechless.
I'm doing all the research for her. She hasn't ever had many details on her fathers family history.
Still trying to find the records of immigration for
Gaetana DiGiovanna and Francesco Mano ...

Re: Francesco Manno/Mano & Gaetana DiGiovanna
Laura-
WOW! You nailed it! All the names and dates match. Obviously the last name as Mans is wrong but this info is for my family! Gaetana was called Annie.
Hopefully with this info I can track back the family line before they came to US.
If you have any research suggestions please let me know.
