Re: POW'S HELD IN THE UK DURING WW2
I have found two files compiled by the Vatican which has lots of information re prisoners of war during WW2. Not speaking Italian, I have found it difficult to extract relevant information however, Italian speakers will find these files very useful I am sure.

Hi Fitzzy, my story is almost identical to yours, I hope you have more luck than I have had. I understand that the Red Cross records in Geneva will be accessible online from this Month so I am going to explore this avenue.

Re: PRISONER OF WAR - LINCOLNSHIRE
Hello Ms Goodall, I have just read your email, it was nice to hear that you knew my mother & thank you for taking the trouble to contact me. As you may have gathered, my mother became pregnant by a POW named Stefano but that is all I know about him. You are correct, my mother was shipped to ...

Hi Fitzzy, I can't believe what I have just read because I have the exact same story! My father called Stefano worked on my uncles farm in Digby Lincolnshire. He had a relationship with my mother and as a result I was born in 1945. I have been trying to find my father for a number of years and have ...

I am trying to find my father who was billeted at Scopwick House Farm & worked at Tasker's farm in the next village - Digby. It is very likely that he was moved from Camp 80 at Horbring ...

Re: PRISONER OF WAR - LINCOLNSHIRE
Thank you Angela, my mistake I meant to say camp 80 & not 30! I will give the Red Cross another shot but I understand the service is halted for about two years due to modernisation?

Re: PRISONER OF WAR - LINCOLNSHIRE
I have had a reply from the Red Cross in Geneva however not good news, they are unable to carry out any investigation without a Family name and (or) the exact POW camp number. It is possible that the camp number was POW 30 but that is just a guess! Back to the drawing board it seems.

Re: PRISONER OF WAR - LINCOLNSHIRE
I am very interested in finding information on work camps in Lincolnshire, if I can find details of work camps near to Digby in Lincolnshire then I might be closer to finding a family name of my father who was held there!
