Re: 1836 Colaianni & Bulso marriage + 2 murders?

That is most helpful! Thank you as always :D

Based on those dates and what info I have in the database so far, It's looking like this 19 year old Luigi Tosches who died 24 Aug 1826 might have been the victim....I wish cause of death was noted on these records https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark ...

1836 Colaianni & Bulso marriage + 2 murders?

Hi Ya'll!
These questions stem from the 1836 marriage of Pasquale Colaianni and Maria Leonarda Bulso. The marriage Act noted that Pasqaule's living father's residence was "di Isola di Nisita" (which I've surmised was actually NISIDA, a prison Island near Naples. https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark ...

Wow!

Mille Grazie for the information Pippo! This one was a new-to-me version and google translate was giving me some nonsensical zingers

Yeah, sometimes this addiction can lead us to read about some very sad tragedies. :(

Re: Death of Francesco Cutaio 1798 or 1800?

The above is from the processetti of this 1821 marriage of Domenico Cutaio to Maria Mattea Cordone. This is the Act https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua36040689/wOrZkRl

Francesco's death is image 84 of the processetti. Francesco's wife died 28 May 1800 (as his widow) so 1798 for his ...

Re: 1819 death of Michele Tosches

Angela, sorry I didn't get back and say THANK YOU!

I've got Leonardo's birth flagged on my print-out of the 1823 Index. I'm attempting a different approach to my research.... I'm going through every record set available for every year and creating/connecting profiles for everyone in Casalvecchio ...

Tufara, Campobasso, Molise

After discovering my family line goes back to Tufara, I've done a little research into various branches. Here is a list of ~250 individuals connected to that town. If you have any connections to Tufara, take a look and you might see some familiar surnames!

Re: 1819 death of Michele Tosches

mmogno, thanks for the links....interesting that the gang was amnestied and became 'official''. In addition to Michele Tosches and Antonio Criasia's death attributed to the brigands, at least one other-> Tommaso Tosches was killed by them in 1810...All 3 from a town of less than 2000 people. I ...

Re: 1819 death of Michele Tosches

Angela, thanks for all that. Yes, Domenica was my 3XGG Aunt and she was married three times. I haven't found any children of that marriage to Michele Tosches --so assume he died closer to their 1813 marriage than to her 1819 second marriage.

I've found a few interesting items...the Varadelli Gang ...

I can't quite make out the town name...Capo Luoso di S. Paolo...? (in Capitanata--so I know general area but cant find a real place) As best I can make out, there is no record found (and no date given) because Michele was killed/murdered by the Vardelli Group/Gang in the countryside and his body was ...
