Re: Help finding marriage certificate

I was re-looking at this, I think I figured it out ....they put only the husbands in the index for the actual marriage registry and then the wives (the other index I mentioned) aligned to the publication of marriage. I also think the clerk duplicated the registry number 9 on the Luigi we were lookin...

Re: Help finding marriage certificate

As per normal incredible....Thanks Angela! It probably took me longer to write that post lol. How did you know to look at entry number 30? I even went through the registry looking at the nines (9, 19, 29, 7, 27 17) and through the Allegati looking at those registry numbers and struck out. But now I ...

Re: Death Date Translation

Thank you Pippo!

I was wondering if perhaps this commune stamped the birth certificates with that stamp when you died outside of the commune, but based on Antonio being born and died there is doesn't appear so.

Thanks again!

Re: Translation of Brother's name on Ellis Island Manifest

Thanks Tessa! Finding this earlier Ellis record of him, I thought I found the sibling :) Zooming in I thought the line below it was the one connected to him, I see it now I was off on the half line. Paolo makes perfect sense that was his dad. The search continues!

Thanks as always,
D.

Re: Death Date Translation

Thank you, I should have clarified further, all of these birth certificates are double stamped. One for the marriage in the commune, but then at the bottom of each they are stamped again with a morti date. It almost appears they went back through in 1957 and updated the birth certificates with known...

Translation of Brother's name on Ellis Island Manifest

Hello I was hoping someone could help with the name of the in country relative (brother) in column 11, Line 2 for Vittorio from this Ellis island manifest. This is the only place I've seen a sibling listed. They were from Langharino in Parma. I was thinking that the surname was listed first, so perh...

Re: Finding commune of S. Martino

Great information thank you Angela. To your point in the example we've been discussing, her death happened in 1920 in the US, but wasn't recorded until 1922 in Italy. Thank you for looking at the death notations, I will repost in the translation forums. It almost seems like they went back through in...

Re: Finding commune of S. Martino

Fantastic thank you so much Angela. That post was great thank you for sharing. Do you see it often where Allegati is divided up between birth, death and marriage? In San Martino it just seems to have one set of Allegati, but I went back through some of the things we looked at for Gagglio Montano the...

Re: Finding commune of S. Martino

Thank you Angela, and I have no idea why I wrote 1901 vs 1891 on the marriage lol. Overnight the commune did send the death records for Giovanni and Maria, everything lined up to what everyone had tracked down prior and translated on Giovanni (parents were indeed Bortolo and Maria Pesce). I've been ...
