Baglio Family from Corleone

Post by italian059 »

Wondering if anyone can help me. I am looking for a brother of my grandfather. He was born in Corleone in 1864.

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2046915

He married Giuseppa Militello Oct. 2, 1888 in Corleone.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2046915

They had at least 3 children that I know of. Vito (b1889), Carmela (b1895) & Biagio (b1904).As far as I know they stayed in Italy. What is confusing is there is no record of any of their children getting married at least in Corleone. I checked Ancestry a while back but couldn't find anything. My subscription just ran out so I can't use it right now. Would appreciate any help. This is so confusing. Do not know what happened to them.
Thanks again.

There are currently 4 listings for the surname BAGLIO in the Italian Phone Book (landlines) in Corleone.
Perhaps you would like to write to one or more of these "potential" relatives and inquire.

Help with letter in Italian to potential relatives (if you need it)

Thanks for the info but I am already in touch with relatives who live there. I met them a few months ago when I was in Sicily. They have no knowledge of them. That is why I am so confused.

There is a Domenico Baglio who was born abt 1863 and who arrived in New Orleans 13 Oct 1889. He also left from Palermo which is where a lot of my Corleone ancestors left from for America. I don't know if this has anything to do with your search, but the birth date is around the same time. I also don't know how common this name was in Italy. Good luck.

Corrections:

deceased Calogero Militello; living Giuseppa Gennusa

Antonia Marsalisi daughter of deceased Salvatore Marsalisi and living Biagia Castro . Blasia is the Latin equivalent of the Italian name Biagia
