Translation help Allegati

Post by deigo1 »

Could someone help with the translation information in this marriage Allegati for Calogero Scardina and Guiseppa Serio from 1895 in Cefalu. I'm making out what I believe maybe Guiseppa's fathers death certificate. I was curious if Guiseppa's birth record is included. I haven't been able to find either of the above in the archive books. I was curious if perhaps they were from smaller towns from around Cefalu as I've been struggling to find the generation back's info (ie Calogero and Guiseppa's parents)

This is the link to the actual marriage record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

Assuming I found the correct one Calogero's birth certificate I had translated here: https://www.italiangenealogy.com/forum/topic/52923

Thanks!

Yes, that is the death act of Pasquale Serio, father of Giuseppa.
He died at age 45, on 3 September 1880.
He was the son of deseased (both) Giuseppe Serio and Carmela Cefalu(?), and the husband of Vincenza Saja.

The next record is the extract of Calgero's birth.

The next record (dated 26 March 1895) is a notarized statement from Vincenza Saja regarding the birth of her daughter Giuseppa Serio on 18 March 1876, but does not appear to be found in the register of birth. She appears because her husband is deceased, and presents the testimony of 5 people who can attest to the birth date and parentage of Giuseppa Serio.

Happy to help!

Glad to have verification of Carmela's surname.

And I forgot to mention that Pasquale Serio was a fisherman.
