Assistance with birth record

Post by delfgill »

Hi,

Can someone please help with Record #3, page 34, for Rosa Marzatico?

https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/co ... &pId=38360

I’m having trouble with the reference to the wetnurse(s) on page 35. Was she placed in the care of both Caterina Grande and Lucia Arma?

Thank you!

Here is how I read the record:
The child was consigned to Caterina Grande, daughter of unknown father, and of Anna Lucia [Grande], age 26, and wife of Filippo Cataggio.

Hopefully, others will take a look.

Edit to add:
Here is a birth in 1881 to Caterina Grande and her husband Filippo Cataggio.
It confirms the married couple.
More than likely Caterina was consigned the care and feeding of the infant Marzatico because she was probably still lactating.

Much appreciated :) I am researching Baiona/Catoggio DNA matches and this birth record will be very helpful.

Grazie, mmogno! :D

And, here is a probable sibling to Caterina Grande.
Giuseppe Antonio Grande born in 1860 (#21) to Anna Lucia Grande, and padre incerto.
