Could you please provide a link to the birth record? What town is it from? On the passenger list, it looks like his last place of residence was Santa Maria Capua Vetere but that’s not where the birth record is from. Thanks. Also there should be a second page to the passenger list.

They are not the same person.
One is born in 1902 and the other one is 20yo in 1908 and the surname is different.
You’re right Erudita, the birth town is very difficult to read (and not only that) but it must be a not very populated one because in July the act is #7.

@mmogno

Thanks for the links. It appears that the town of Proserpio records are only available online with a subscription to ancestry.com, which I don’t have.

Here’s what I can decipher from the birth record copy posted which, as Farassino has already indicated above, is not for the same person who appears on the passenger list.

Record #7 Birth of Edoardo Vospini. He was born on June 28,1902 in the house at 32 Via Vittorio Emanuele (town of Proserpio). I can’t decipher his father’s first name, but he was age 33 and a contadino/peasant. His mother, who was a housewife living with her husband, was Giduina (her surname may be Pontiggia.

The town of birth on the passenger list is in the last column of page 2 of the list. Sorry I can’t decipher it and the names and addresses of the relatives.

Hi Erudita

The records are on line at Family Search. I located the birth record yesterday but by that time mmogno had already posted and I was in in the middle of something else at the time. Anyways, here it is:

Need to dash, so will leave you to check it off. (I'm sure it's perfect.)

Family Search have been making some changes, so it's quite possible the site was not responding properly at the particular time that you searched, Erudita. (I ended up with two separate/different links to exactly the same record. It's either a feast or a famine!!! :) )

@Angela

Thanks for the info, Angela. I haven’t been on family search that much recently. Been really busy this month with the grandkids’ schedules. Also still working on organizing my new laptop. More soon.
