MVP

Post by darkerhorse »

As the year comes to a close, I have an acknowledgement.

This Forum doesn't have an award for Most Valuable Player (MVP), but, if it did, I would nominate the following (in alphabetical order): AngelaGrace, Erudita, and Tessa.

Honorable mentions to Pippo and Marcuccio.

I apologize if I slighted anyone - as they say, no intense offended.

@darkerhorse

Thank you so much for your acknowledgement. I know that all of us here work hard to help others with their research and/or translations, and sometimes without being thanked for our efforts. So your acknowledgement of AngelaGrace, Tessa, and myself certainly does, in some way, compensate for those who, in this respect, have failed us in the past.

In addition to acknowledging Edmondo who created and maintains this website, I also feel that fellow contributor, mmogno, deserves recognition for his ability in transcribing and translating some otherwise very difficult Latin church records. He has also been very instrumental in helping me, at times, with my own research as well.

So thanks again for the recognition. A very Happy New Year to all.

I neglected to mention that Pippo gets the trophy for most closely resembling his avatar in person.

If it were me, I would alter the string title to MVPs (plural). So many of those here. Over the years, I've been assisted by many, but none more so than "superstars" like AngelaGrace, Erudita, Tessa, mmogno, PippoM, liviomoreno, adelfio (Marty) and, come to think of it, also Biff83. I'm probably forgetting some other deserving folks (apologies there), but these people are the lifeblood ("ha-ha") of this site. Appreciation for their collective efforts simply CANNOT be understated! I also appreciate Angela's shout-out to Edmondo, someone who has the more "thankless" task of keeping this site up and running and, at the same time, is more or less an "unknown" to the average poster (er... like yours truly). Anyway, great stuff all around...

Happy New Year (2026) everyone!!! :D
