I've been checking the surname distribution map but find no "Fouiccio" in Italy today... :-(

I DO find "Fauci"

In fact, the Italian Phone book has 65 listings for "Fauci"

Maybe Angelina's name was spelled differently than "Fouiccio"

Also, we think Angela may have been married before. My aunt claims she was named after her father's sister, Marie Fouiccio. We know we have a Frank and Marie Fouiccio in our tree. It is possible that she could have had those children before meeting Anthony. The only hole in this theory is that they are not on the manifest. It seems the further I go back, the more confused I am.

Thanks,
ERic
Not understanding who was named after whom? Whose sister is Maria?

Anthony Cantone married Angelina Saladino. Angelina was born in 1865 and died September 1917. They lived in New Olreans, LA and had the following kids:

Son - Russo: (may be a nick name) born 1893 - died 1960
Son - August: born 1901 - died 1921
Son - Charles:
Daughter - Angelina Cantone
Possible son - Anthony born 1888

Anthony Cantone married Amanda Cantone after Angelina's death. Any help locating any records regarding them would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Eric

T,

I think Anthony's granddaughter, my great aunt Marie, was named after a Marie Fouccio. She thought it was Anthony's daughter, but isn't sure since she never met her. I think Marie is Angela's sister. Fauci is close to Fouccio, so I am pretty sure that is her. It makes sense that she was traveling with Anthony from Sicily.

You can order these obits from the Louisiana Public Library site

Also, if you search the site for "Fauci" you get the obit for Mrs. Marie Christ who died in 1958. Anything sound familiar? Her first husband's last name was Puleo...
