Translating a name

Was wondering if anyone can tell me is there and english translation for the name Congesto?

I have tried the usual sources to find a translation and everything come up empty.

Are you sure about the spelling? I've never heard Congesto as a first name!

Certainly the simplest answer would be "With (con) gesture (gesto)" or, if spelled slightly differently, "With gusto"

It's funny that you should mention the namce Concetto because I was doing some research this weekend and found out that the name that we were looking for was Concetta and she married Ercolando Fortunato and I have been in contact with family members associated with this union. Thanks for everyone's input on translating this name and I appreciate the assistance that I receive from this site. You all are the best.

It is a bad English and French habbit to translate names.

I know it is bad to translate names and I would never do that unless when the individual comes to this country and they go by the americanized name such as in this case. I was researching thru some old obituaries and had a Concetta Piazza Fortunato but could not place the name because of the spelling. I have on the genealogy worksheet referred back to her given name or spelling of her given name but it sometimes helps to know what the translated spelling of a name is. Sorry to break the ethics but sometimes it is necessary.
