Marriage record translation

Post by rp76226 »

What is the profession of the bride (listed after her age) and also the correct spelling on the last name of the mother of the groom. What town was the bride born in? record # 23 (Lepore - Fariello marriage).

The bride was born in Pisciotta (which is in Salerno Province). Still trying to decipher her profession. Groom's mother was deceased Vincenza Palladino.

The bride's birth place on this record is a mystery based on this marriage record. it contradicts her birth record plus official confirmation from Grumo Appula that Eufrasia Fariello, daughter of Rocco Fariello and Filomena Scarola was born 20 September 1890 in Grumo Appula. See links below.

Here's an 1893 birth record for a child born to this couple, but in Pisciotta, with the same first name. Her age in the marriage record matches the year of this record. So the one born in 1890 must have died and this other child given the same first name. Document says the father was living in Caprioli, which is a frazione or hamlet of Pisciotta. Date of birth Jan 8, 1893.

Bride Fariello's occupation was "stiratrice" - laundress :-)
