Because the bride (Rosa) was a minor, and both of her parents were deceased and could therefore not give their consent to her upcoming marriage, other family members convened to vote on giving such consent. The family council members were Vincenzo Vassallo, the son of dec Salvatore Vassallo, age 72, a paternal uncle of the bride, and one of her guardians.
