Translate Portion of Birth Record

Post by jerrys1024 »

Attached is a portion of the birth record for Loreto Sinatra.

I especially need occupations of the witnesses and wife, along with any identification of the home where the birth occurred.

I am using the Family Tree Birth Template but get lost in the Italian script which I am unable to read clearly.

Thank you.

No occupation is given for the mother/wife... she is identified as "usa coniuge" - his spouse

Child born at the home of the spouses ( casa di delli coniugi)

Occupation of witnesses is "civile" - often translated as middle class citizen.

There is no place on this form for the mother's occupation. The father's occupation is listed earlier in this document, in a part you haven't displayed. The birth is only said to be at the parents' house with no information on where that is located.

The witnesses Don Vincenzo Cipolla, 31, and Don Giachino (Gioacchino) Ricotta, 48, are both "civile" (landowner).
