Confused by Estratto di Morte, Wrong Names...

Post by Rossonero3 »

Attached are (3) documents, marriage between Carmine Pari and Maria Teresa Bianco (2 pages) and Estratto di Morte of the father of the bride, Luca Bianco. Although being from Campagnola, Marzano Appio (CE), Luca Bianco lived and worked in Aversa, or at least I believe that's what it reads. Now, the confusion is that the death record for Luca Bianco, says that his parents were Francesco and Maria Esposito, this is not true from other docs i have as well as the marriage record attached for his daughter. Page 2 of the marriage record for the list of Processetti, it states that there's an extract of death for the grandparent of the bride, "Pasquale Bianco" and I know from other documents that Pasquale's wife was Orsola Lepore. Not sure why Francesco and Maria Esposito are listed as parents on the death record of Luca.

I believe this is the death act for the wrong Luca Bianco.
The deceased leaves his wife Giuseppa Esposito according to the extract.

On the marriage of Maria Teresa, the mother (Luca's wife) is Catarina Giuliano

You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. Also, did the allegati contain the bride’s baptism extract? If so look to see if the father was alive then and compare that date to this death date for possible confirmation. She was 27 in 1843 so was born about 1816 which was when this Luigi died.

If you can access the Aversa records at your local family history center, I suggest you look at the original 1816 death records for that town. The clerk who created the extracted record may just have copied the info from the wrong person's record, particularly if the first and last names of the two deceased individuals were the same, and their dates of death were in close proximity. I recall this situation happening for another poster, but the records were accessible online, and we were then able to locate the correct original record.

Ok thanks, I was at the FHC today and was able to grab a few records, one of which was the processetti docs for the marriage of Luca's grandson, Luca Bianco. I will sort through the docs and report back...

Ok so now there's some correct information and again, possible incorrect or wrong person, ugh. Attached is the death record for Pasquale Bianco son of Luca Bianco. Pasquale died what looks like a hospital in Napoli in 1844 at 30 yrs old, (he was born in 1811 actually). This lists the correct parents, Luca and Caterina Bianco (Giuliano) and his wife Carlotta Ragosta. I can't tell from the record where exactly this takes place besides a hospital, can anyone else tell where it might be?

The bad news is, although an extract of death is included for Luca Bianco, it again appears to wrong. It's in latin so i'll need a little help, but it looks to me that the date of death is 1808? and his age 78? If so that can't be right as Luca's children were born between 1809 - 1815, and his son Pasquale as mentioned above was born in 1811. Ugh.
