There are records here for the town. There is no Rocco born between 1885 and 1889 there. Indices for the birth records are in alphabetical order at the end of a particular year's record. If you find him, someone on the forum will be happy to help you with the translations

Is this your Rocco in the 1920 US Census on Troy AVe, Brooklyn? (5th January)
He was a blacksmith, arrived 1909.
Wife: Nicolina; children: Mary, Eleanor, Angelina, Sylvio.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1488411
Also listed in the 1920 Census again (10th January - a different census taker)
On Troy AVe. Rocco listed as a iron worker. Arrival 1909, Papers 1918.
Same wife and children -
Also listed is a BROTHER, Arthur, residing with them.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1488411
At same address in 1915 NYS Census
https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/27 ... bel=Return
And a WWII Registration Card for Rocco Crafa East 19th St. Brooklyn
DOB 9 December 1882 in "Bonivendo" (most likely Benvenuto) - employed at A & B Iron Work
Wife: Nicolina

I was following a path of research of Arthur Crafa, brother of Rocco, to see if we could find a definite place of birth. It appears from the above records that Arthur is 2 years younger than Rocco (births about 1886 and 1883-4, respectively).
The interesting notation is on the WWII record of Arthur - place of birth listed as "Nontova" - obviously written phonetically by the clerk. Similar to the phonetic spelling "Bonivendo" on Rocco's WWII card.
Then I found this military service card for Arthur during WWI. Same address - Troy Ave., Brooklyn.
He lists his place of birth as Venice, Italy. (????) It is POSSIBLE that the "Nontova" above is Noventa di Piave, Venezia Province.

AND*** while serving in the military, and stationed in Texas, Arthur Crafa filed for his naturalization.
On THIS record, his birthplace is listed as "Beatralcena, Italy" Another phonetic spelling.

I searched the births (1884-1887) in Pietrelcina for Arturo/Arthur (as erudita did for Rocco) and did not find him.
I also did not find an arrival manifest for either Rocco or Arthur. It is possible that these were their "American" names and not their given names...
This will certainly take some additional research.
