Finding commune / birth certificate

I'm trying to locate the birth certificate of a great great grandfather. I was able to find his tombstone here in the US (picture below), which indicates that he is a native of Gaggiomontana. I haven't been able to find any documents online around this commune, I'm was wondering if perhaps this was known as something else or perhaps the records were held somewhere else.

Dated 21 July 1883 in the town hall of Gaggio Montano
Before the official appeared Andrea Guidotti, age 30, landowner residing in Gaggio, to declare that at 11 AM on the 16th of the current month in the house in Gaggio, to Marianna Cheli, housewife, his wife residing with him, was born a male child who was not presented to the official, and to whom was given the name BATTISTA
To the above and this act were present as witnesses Carlo Simoni, 24, clerk; and Leonardo Faccanti, 49, mason, both residing in this town.
The declarant dispensed with the presentation of the child because it was ill.
NOTE in margin:
He was the legitimate son of Domenico Andrea Guidotti and of Marianna Cheli by their subsequent marriage celebrated on 21 March 1893 in Gaggio Montano.

Wow! Tessa / Angela thank you so much as always. I was just hoping to find the town that had the record. I did not know that family search had some of these archives, as I could not find the commune name of Gaggio on the "antenati" searches.

Through family search do they have access to the ten year indexes, I wanted to continue to see if I could find the death of the parents to find the names of the prior generation?

Now that we have the parents names from Battista's birth act above we can search!

EDIT TO ADD:
Using the marriage of Battista's parents celebrated on 21 March 1893 in Gaggio Montano... here is the generation back.
Domenico Andrea is age 42 and the son of deceased Battista Guidotti, and of deceased Anna Guerini(?)
Marianna is age 40 and the daughter of deceased Domenico Cheli, and of deceased Pasqua Taglioli.
With this marriage the couple wishes to acknowledge the birth of their 4 children.
1 - Battista born July 1883
2 - Domenico Giovanni born December 1884
3 - Anna Caterina born July 1889
4 - Luigi Simone born July 1892

Note: Marianna was born in Lizzano in Belvedere (Metropolitan City of Bologna)

Registered on 15 November 1891, Lizzano in Belvedere
Reporting the death were Pietro Orlandini, 55 yo, Muratore (mason/bricklayer), and Domenico Cheli, 58 yo, agricoltore (farmer), both living in Lizzano. They reported that at 7 am, today (15 Nov 1891), Domenico Cheli died in the house in Lizzano, No 177. He was 73 yo, agricoltore, born and residing in Lizzano, the son of the deceased Sebastiano (Cheili) and the deceased Catterina Carpani, who had both lived in Lizzano when living. He was the widower of Pasqua Taglioli.

Reporting the death were Domenico Cheli, 60 yo, bracciante (day labourer), and Dr Enrico? Tozzi Fontana, 43 yo, Medico (doctor), both living in Lizzano. They reported that at 12.00 yesterday, in the house in Lizzano, No 153, Pasqua Taglioli, died. She was 50 yo, a massaia (domestic), born and residing in Lizzano, daughter of the deceased Luigi and of the deceased Marianna Franzaroli, who had both lived in Lizzano when living, the wife of Domenico Cheli.

Reporting the death were Andrea Guidotti, 39 yo, possidente (land owner), and Carlo Simoni, 31 yo, impiegato (clerk), both living in Gaggio. They reported that at 2.30 pm, on 21 June 1890, in the house in Gaggio, No 246, Anna Guccini, 76 yo, massaia (domestic) died. She was born and residing in Gaggio, the daughter of the deceased Andrea Guccini, who had been a colono (tenant farmer), and of the deceased Maria Picchioni, a domestic, who had both lived in Gaggio when living. Anna Guccini was the widow of Battista Guidotti.

Appearing were Nicola Lepri, of unknown parents, 34 yo, tenant farmer and Vincenzo Cioni, son of deceased Mariano Cioni, 42 yo, bracciante (day labourer), residing here in Gaggio, who reported that at 11 pm yesterday, 7 October 1873, in the house in Fornace, here in Gaggio, Battista Guidotti died.

He was the son of deceased Domenico and of deceased Catterina, an Agricoltore Proprietario, 69? yo, born in Gabba, municipality of Lizzano (in) Belvedere, and living in Gaggio Montano. He was the husband of Anna Guccini.

These were time intensive ones to find. They structured these archives together in 5 year blocks, with what looked like another small area, so there were ten 1 year indexes in each set to find. The 1 year ones are much more user friendly but happy they are there to actually search. On two finding their two children.

I was also interested based on the translation does it indicate that Marianna's husband or Domenico's father is still alive? (This would be Domenico Andrea, which is some times referred to as just Andrea). If I'm reading enough correctly mother and son died only about 2 months apart.

She was residing in Gaggio Montano, but born in Lizzano in Belvedere, the daughter of the deceased Domenico Cheli and of the deceased Pasqua Taglioli, and the wife of Domenico Andrea Guidotti.

Domenico Guidotti, an ocologiaio (ocologist?) died 8.35, yesterday in the house in Via Giulio Giordani, No 11, at the age of 47. He was born and living in Gaggio Montano, the son of Andrea, a farmer, and of the deceased Marianna Cheli, who had both lived in Gaggio Montano when living. He was the husband of Zita Dina Tomasi.
