Everyone's handwriting is quite unique anyway so you can only use the chart as a guide as to how different letters may have been formed.

yes, thank you! I have to remember to drop the o'clock. I will update my notes For the occupation "villico" I find different translations based on each website I visit. One translates it as farmer and another lists it as peasant villager. Is tenant farmer the proper way to say it? I think...

Hi Angela, Thanks again for the info on how to find the info in Mantova and the info on Sicily! Do you know what year that census was taken in Montova? Possibly 1881 or 1891? 1891 seems to fit better because Empedocle would have only been 3ish in 1881, so not at school. If he in fact was born in 18...
