Angela, I just tried that and it works. Oh my goodness, I wish I had asked long ago. This was the reason I posted so many documents for translation ---I couldn't see them.
Great :D Glad that works for you.

Re: profession of father of deceased

Carol, it doesn't give Domenico's profession. It says that he was deceased after his name and where there is space to write his profession, you are seeing the name "Olmo" which is Raffaele's place of residence i.e. Strada Olmo.

Re: Goffredo, born 1877

He was born on 20 September 1877. (It says "venti" = twenty) What you could do is, after you've zoomed in, then right click on mouse, and then click on "open image in new tab." You'll see that a new address pops up saying something like "main.php (2974x2350....)" (It looks like the image I've posted...

Re: marriage was the death of him

My thinking is that they possibily married the day before Domenico died, and that the notification of the marriage wasn't received at the Town Hall until the day after. The Clerk then wrote the information into Part II of the Marriage Registry dating it 14 April 1882. (Juggling with the times on 14 ...

Re: marriage was the death of him

Oh!!! Well, that is really sad, but then it is even more tragic, because he actually died on the same day they married???? This is what I'm reading: The Death was registered on 14 April 1882 at 11.45 am . It says he died "today" so, 14 April 1882, at 3.15 am ., Via Castello. He married Mariantonia R...

Re: Translate 1869 Birth Record

Angela - It's Maria (I had to create a new account as I misplaced my password). I'm excited to share that I found birth records for both Angela Maria Iovanna and Angiolo Ruggiero! It turns out Angela is actually spelled "Angiola." Would you say her actual name is Angiola Maria rather than Angela Ma...

Re: Name of Mother of Deceased?

Happy to help, Ellen. I don't know why the wife's name wasn't recorded in the record. Possibily the declarants didn't know his marital status? Or, possibily it wasn't the practice in that particular town that year. You could flick through some other records to see whether that was the case. Just wan...

Re: Maria Luigia 1815 birth

I searched through the 1815 records for a birth record for a Maria, a Luigia and a Maria Luigia Tedesco, but there wasn't one there. I also looked through either side of 1815, but not there. Here's a Death Record for a Luigia Tedesco and I'm pretty sure it's the person you are looking for. It also e...
