Re: Long Island New York - Research

ffusiak, oops...I should have mentioned... It's for a death in January, 1972 (Joseph Focarile), and there are others from the early 1980's. For my family, in NY or surrounding area, I have found only a single obit, or death notice out of hundreds of relatives! Where I live, I have found many obits, ...

Re: Long Island New York - Research

Thank you justinfrombrklyn, I will let you know.

Thank you ffusiak, I tried most of those sources. I think I need to find a local newspaper on film, maybe at the Queens Library...

Long Island New York - Research

Hi all, Was just wondering if anyone might know of a reasonable researcher or genealogist from New York, Queens, or Long Island areas. I would need to have a search done for obits and to have some cemetery searches and photos taken (in particular in Calvary Cemetery and St Charles Cemetery-East Farm...

Re: Old marriage contract translation Di Balsamo (Latin ?)

Hi. I am not sure if anyone had a chance to look at the last 2 short pages (P18, P19) posted here. I appreciate it.

There is so much information to review so I just wanted to make sure nothing was missed in case it got buried in this long thread.

Re: Latin or Italian translation for Giuesppe Document

OK thanks

I think that is all there is. Sorry about the duplication in the last post. (It could be that the 2nd image (page) in the 1st post belongs at the end of this document, but all the pages are accounted for...)

Re: Latin or Italian translation for Giuesppe Document

No problem...
I will post the rest of them now to complete the document. Maybe over time we will get additional input and pick up on some missing points.

I know you have done your best! (anything else after this will seem easy :)

Re: Latin or Italian translation for Giuesppe Document

I know it looks more and more difficult as we go along. You are doing just fine. Good catch about Fabrizio having deceased by 1728. Thank you.

I post 2 more:

Re: Old marriage contract translation Di Balsamo (Latin ?)

Excellent, thank you both again. Good find. Just for reference sake, I would assume your are both referring to P7, 6th line, 2nd word ? It does makes sense, since there were many generations of "Mannese" in this line, although some documents for the same ancestors mention "Falegname", and "Carpentie...

Re: Cemetery searchs

Thank you Marty.
And thank you Continuo.

Yes, I remember now, I think Erudita wrote a post about it. So the only possibility is to find recent gravestones. But I think some families eventually place the deceased in the cemetery wall, niches...

Re: Old marriage contract translation Di Balsamo (Latin ?)

Welcome back. Well that is very "cool" indeed. And I thank Pippo also! Fabrizio is a bit of a road block now, and I am not sure where to go from there, will see...of course there is also the question of the name change from D'Audano. I will be sure to note these comments and eventually try a follow-...
