I found his birth record on the antenati website. He was born on June 30, 1834 at #37 Strada Processionile in Accettura (Matera) . His surname in that town was Rocco, not Rocchi. That is record #9 2 , pages 104-105). His father, Signor Giulio Rocco, son of Antonio , was a 53 year old tailor ...

I cannot find the birth certificate of Abele Nicola Maria Rocchi, born on 28 March 1878 in Campobasso, nor that of Laura, born on 4 May 1873, also in Campobasso.

You are probably confusing orphans with foundlings. Orphans keep their father's surname even after their parents' deaths, unless they are legally adopted. Foundlings are given a surname by the registrar, which varies from one municipality to another. They only change it if they are legally adopted ...

The note is a correction made by the Court of Cosenza regarding the name of Francesco Lico's mother. Instead of Teresa Filice, it should read Nicolina Filice.

You could search the Riveli for Filippo Rimmaudo, Rimbaudo or Zimbardo to see if there is a house adjacent to those of Blasio di Vita or Antonio Incrimone among their real estate assets.
