Re: Jure Sanguinis Help - Marriage Certificate Roadblock

Thank mler.

Luckily my GGF's parents never immigrated to the US and my GGM's parents came over many years after her and by all records never naturalized either.

On all US Censuses from 1910-1950 my GGF and GGM are listed as "A" (as is my GGM's parents after their arrival) and on both of their ...

Re: Jure Sanguinis Help - Marriage Certificate Roadblock

Mler,

I am almost 100% certain that my great-grandparents were married in the United States, as they both immigrated to America from Italy at different times and my great-grandmother (GGM) did so when she was about 9 years old.

That being said, I have performed searches in all five New York City ...

Re: Jure Sanguinis through Paternal GF - Are Marriage Records Required?

This will, as always, depend on the policy of the consulate where you present your application.

The officials have some level of discretion, so your best bet might be to assemble the most accurate and complete set of documents (including the correction of any discrepancies) and see what the ...

Check with user PippoM on here to aid in your document search in Acri. I’m sure they can assist you as another user stated they had success.
Awesome! I'll reach out to PippoM today.

We were going to sit down and write the letter to the officials in Acri this weekend.

Thanks again!

Re: 1950 Divorce Records from Queens, NYC

Divorce proceedings are sealed for 100 years in NYC.

You will have to get a lawyer involved to get these via a court order or petition, since the parties are assumed deceased you obviously won’t have to also provide “certificate of no appeal” document either.

My grandfather and his first wife were married in New Jersey in 1933 and had final divorce proceedings in Queens, NY in 1950.

I have the exact date of the annulment as well as their original marriage ...
