Re: Gioiosa Ionica Orphanage Records?

Family Centers are closed due to Covid. I contacted the LDS site in Los Angeles and someone checked out that film, but birth records for Gioiosa Ionica were not on it. Perhaps they were missing or damaged. That is why I am trying to figure out where else there might be a record of some kind.

Gioiosa Ionica Orphanage Records?

My Grandmother was Maria Rosa Prudente, born in Gioiosa Ionica. She always gave her birthday as April 12, 1888, but her marriage banns and emigration record point to 1886. For some reason, 1886 birth records are missing from Antenati. The marriage banns left her parents blank. She was raised by the ...

Re: Appreciate a translation, please

Thank you Livio.
Maria Rosa's name and birthdate matches my grandmothers information, but she had a different last name, "Prudente", not common in Calabria. She was fostered by the Simari family.I just wondered if there was any indication on the record as to whether or not this record indicates any ...

Re: Another challenging translation please

Ok, sorry, I thought this related to Vincenzo Mazzaferro, Cosimo Mazzaferro was his father. I wish I understood Italian! I guess I got the information wrong. Thanks!

Another challenging translation please

This one is tough. The handwriting seems very poor. I'm looking at the page on the right (#95, I think) It should be for Vincenzo Mazzaferro.I see a couple of other names that are associated with him. If it is too difficult, I understand. Thank you!

Re: Mazzaferro translation please

Thank you for the corrections! Apparently I mixed up the names, as they are all related. That was the document for Femia. Is it possible to translate the marriage record for Giorgio Femia and Rosa Papaluca, which you have helpfully provided?

Re: Mazzaferro translation please

Once again, thank you! I found the writing to be very hard to decipher. Some officials had better handwriting than others.
