The "zimarra" was it was a large, long and wide surcoat, often richly embroidered, of Spanish origin; later (18th century), dressing gown for men. the tissue was the "cloth", ie wool that was felted through the fulling process. . Felting made it more compact and warm more.

"zimatore di panni" also called, depending on the dialect, "cimatore" or "accimatore".
They "cleaned" woolen choths, cutting what was in eccess (i guess they made them smoother)

Hello! Can someone please help me understand the occupation of Francesco Angelosanto? I think it is zimarre di panni, but I could be transcribing incorrectly.

You can still download individual images but you have to access through the manifest. Awkward to do, but at least the ability is there. Looking for an easier workaround. Here is an example of a page on the new site linked that way.

Also, I noticed I made an error in a previous post. Tommaso was married in 1909 and not 1919.

Hi! One more question - what do you mean by the note is related to Tommaso? If this is the Tommaso I think it is, he was married in Canada in 1919.

Latin translation help - extra note on baptism record

Hello - I’m looking for assistance to translate a baptism record from Latin to English, specifically, (1) the faded note at the top of the record and (2) the word between “ex” and “Michele Bagnasco”.

Background:
Tomas = baby baptized
Michele Bagnasco = father
Rosa Trupiano = mother (married to ...
