Re: Help With Translation
Thank you Tessa, I seen the Grattola name in there and wasn't sure if his wife's name. But at 3 no. So this is the little brother of my Greatgrandfather. From Augustale Catuosco and Raffaela laino.

Erudita, thank you.
Re: Help With Translation
You're very welcome.
Here's the birth record--dated Sept 23, 1867 at 9 a.m. in the town hall of Marsico Nuovo, located in the town on via San Giuseppe
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=779829
Augustale was age 50 and a peasant, at the time of his son Antonio’s birth in the house located in this town on Strada Tempa.* His father was deceased Eligio. His wife, Raffaela Laino, was the daughter of Gianuario (Laino). The birth took place “prossima scorsa notte”. It literally means “next last" or "next past" night,” but I’m not sure if it means that he was born on the 22nd. I’ve never before seen the words “prossima” and “scorsa" used in conjunction with each other, so hopefully one of the native Italian volunteers on the forum can clarify the meaning for us.
*Also there is more than one street in the town with the name Tempa in it. See the attached link-

Re: Help With Translation
So Erudita, this is Antonio's birth record? Does it say how old Raffaela is? My GreatGrandfather Michele was born in 1857, and this would be his little brother. Also I have a questions, My Grandfather was named Augustale, we assume after his grandfather. By why does Antonio's father change his from Antonio on one document and Augustale on the other? I has to be the same man because they are both the son of Elisio Catuosco. and both married to Raffaela Laino.
Re: Help With Translation
Raffaela's age in not given in her son Antonio's birth record. The record only states that she was a contadina (paesant) and that she was the wife of Augustale Catuosco.
As to your other question-I really don't understand what you are asking-
According to these two records, you have:
Eligio Catuosco (you've written the first name as Elisio, but it's a "g" and not an "s" in this birth record)-he was already deceased in 1867, when his grandson Antonio was born
Eligio's son who is Augustale Catuosco (born about 1817-since he was age 50 in 1867)
Augustale's son who is Antonio Catuosco (born in 1867; died in 1870)
