help with dates/names - Luigi Signorella

Post by Jen5525 »

Hi all,

I can't quite make out whether the date of birth is different from the date that the birth was recorded. Also, the notations of two different marriages (?) in the margin are hard to decipher. What were the spouses names and the dates of the marriages?

thanks!

margin notes

First notation in the margin-his marriage to Maria Carmela Peraggine on Nov 4, 1889, record # 88 in Altamura

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

2nd notation- Feb 6, 1941 he married Filippa Gramega in Altamura

The record is dated on Oct 20, 1866, and the birth took place on the 18th, but I'm having trouble deciphering the word which precedes "mese" for month.

The year for the second marriage notation is 1911.

Here is the link to the marriage act.

Thanks, Tessa. Obviously, I'm very tired and should go to bed. Can you decipher the word before "mese" in the text of the birth record?

Thanks suanj and Livio. I thought I typed Gramegna. Totally didn't see that I forget the letter n in the name when I typed it. My eyes really were tired last night. And Livio, I was wondering if the word was stante-so it would be part of the verb stare-to be-so it means "existing month” or "the month that is"-which would be October. Would those be the best ways to translate "stante" into English?

My "free" translation would be "this month".

I agree Livio, also this free translation "current month" could be right..
