Does the Declaration of Intention constitute the "renouncement of foreign citizenship" or does the Petition for Naturaliztion, the "formal" renouncement of citizenship.

What is your proof that Rosolino Angelo Guarino m. Maria Chimento in 1883?
If they married in 1883 they probably would have has children in 1884 or 1885.

Damiano Guarino was born in Alia in 1886.
I believe Rosolino Angelo Guarino is your ggf.

Messina surname is not native to Alia. Salvatore's grandfather and great-grandfather were were from Montemaggiore Belsito, Palermo. It's up the road about 20 miles. My grandfather's grandfather (Cosimo Monteleone) also came from Montemaggiore.

Is your Antonino Puglisi born 1888 to Salvatore born 1/12/1851 and Concetta Maria Todaro who were married 11/5/1878, and one of at least 6 children born between 1879 and 1888

Who actually presented the information to the civil authorities? It was not always a parent. As a result, the exact ages at birth might not be known. The same can be said about ages at death. The older the person, the less chance of knowing the exact agefrewer people would know ...

The number of deaths for Alia in during the cholera epidemic of 1837 (especially july and August) was closer to 400-500 out of a population of 3000+, still very tragic. Sometimes whole families died. I am interested in the genetics. Where can I find the paper discussing it. Thanks in ...

My hobby is researching the town of Alia where my grandfather was born adn emigrated from in 1880 to New Orleans and ended up in the San Fernando Valley.
