Is there anyone who would be able to give me a translation of this document for the baptismal record for Joannes Battisti from March 2, 1669?
Thank you in advance,
Rick

Re: Church records question
ok, thank you. I was not positive. I was looking at the different names and saw Johannes spelled out on some records and then this Joi's.
Another question is what is the date? It looks like it was dated for May but then I clearly see April.

Church records question
I am researching church records in Sover, Trento, Italy. I am back in the early 17th century.
My question is, I see the name that looks like "Joe's" quite a bit. I also see Joannes, however. So, what is "Joe's"? Is it a short form of Joannes or is it Joseph (Giuseppe)?
I am assuming it is the ...

URBANI and BAZZANELLA
Is anyone researching or have connections to the surnames Urbani or Bazzanella in the community of Sover, Trento? I have traced back to the later 16th century.
Also, one of the names I am researching, the spelling is BAPTA. Is that short for anything?
Thank you for any assistance,
Rick

Re: Zenni as a 1st name
Thanks again-
I just had another brief quick question.
What is the significance of surnames with endings of -i, -o or -a?
I had heard once that mostly northern Italians took the -i and southern Italians took the -o. Where do the -a come in at?
Thank you,
Rick

Zenni as a 1st name
Has anyone ever came across the name Zeni, Zenni or Zennius as a 1st name for any of their Italian ancestors?
