This is my gggranfathers occupation on my ggrandfathers marriage certificate, could someone please tell me what this occupation means, they were living in North Italy in the 1800s.

What would the English James as in the first name be translated in Italian as I can see there is no J in the Italian alpahbet, or am I wrong.

I know that Michele Daverio sailed on ss Duilio heading to Genoa in 1926 I have no idea what port it was from maybe NY.
But I also cant find him on Ellis Island arriving in NY. I can see him on ancestry.com but I do not have the credits to veiw it, can somebody please look for me, also on the 1920 ...

Thank you Suanj I believe I also found his father on the UK 1901 but he has his birthplace as Switzerland. Does the name Daverio sound Swiss or more Italian.
