Salve tutti,
When I first began making my tree in Ancestry I relied too much on HINTS because they were provided from distant relatives. Now I think I have discovered a problem and I am hoping a clearer translation can help me feel confident. Because The names I have come up with are new to family ...

Re: Accoglimento Totale / 1948 case
To Italian Researcher,
I agree with Tom 100% about ICA. I am full service. Will be right at the 10k mark. I have been spending time on other sites like reddit, etc, and the questions that people are unclear about - are never posted by someone with ICA, I'll bet. I get all questions answered within ...

Re: Help Confirm Children's Names Birth and Death
Thank you Pippo,
I had found an Trentinale Index for Artena and it took me a day to realize Federico - on page 6 and Leopoldo, on page 8 - were taking me to the same # and page in the Nati records.
I'm happy to know the name situation. Fortunately for this branch of the Family the parent names are ...

Help Confirm Children's Names Birth and Death
Greetings,
I have begun trying to map out siblings of GGF who emigrated. I want to try to find relatives I may have in Artena, Rome.
I can read these names clearly but I am noticing the long, full names are not in the order I assumed. The "simple" first name changes on Nati & Morti records. So ...

Translation help for seeking distant and unknown relations
Greetings,
While I await my 1948 court date, I thought I should try to find unknown relatives that are still in the village that GGF left in 1905. These are relatives that no one in my family would know of. This is my process but I am also reading here to see what other may have done.
So, starting ...

Congratulations TOM!
Just came back to check in on you. So what is ICA suggesting now? You responded to me above with this question but I have not reached out to them yet... I'm getting ready to make final payment before NOV Court Date.
With regard to the consulate, it was my understanding that a ...

Congratulations!
I hope you got your final statement!
I have roughly the same timeline as you. At least I started around the same time with ICA. I have my hearing scheduled for NOV 7 this year. It's already moved once from October... And my case is in ROME, because GGF was born in outskirts ...

Re: Help with 2nd GGM Birth Record - shorthand VITA
Thank you Suanj & Angela,
I have the full marriage record (and that other birth record) - That was the latest find at the research library... That is what made me think that this VITA was perhaps whom I was seeking... and that perhaps VITA (life) was some sort of code...
It seems I will have to ...

Re: Help with 2nd GGM Birth Record - shorthand VITA
Thank you!
I understood the meaning of the Ignoto. I am just trying to decipher the Birth Certificate.
SO you are saying that the name is written Maria? I guess I just need more practice reading the cursive writing.

Help with 2nd GGM Birth Record - shorthand VITA
Greetings,
Perhaps I've just been very lucky so far, but using Antenati & Family Search library, I've been able to find birth records for everyone I've looked for so far... Even finding my 2nd GGF who was born with the name Girolamo IGNOTO, and who was later given the name Carini.

Angela,
Thank you for your thorough research, and for following my scattered posts. While I was posting I had also found the 1830 Birth of Vincenza which I believe is correct. I have not done much searching for marriage records, but I appreciate that one very much!

Re: Help with Translation for Unknown Father
I apologize for the confusing postings. I'm trying to add documentary evidence to what I have been told...
Francesco Bellanti is father of this Girolamo, but was married to someone else.
When his 1st wife Scardina dies, 1867, he then married this V Carini... That's the story and chart I have been ...

Re: Help with Translation for Unknown Father
Angela,
I am checking with my cousin, and asking her to join here, as she has done so much more inter-family work. I am trying to fill in with paperwork on atenati.
I MAY be wrong that he eventually Married Vincenza. That's just the way it is laid out on our Ancestry tree: Like so

Re: Help with Translation for Unknown Father
Thank you very much... This is what I have thought. He did eventually go by the name of the mother, and my cousin has the name of the Father as one Francesco Bellante, previously or currently still married...
And I believe he then married Vincenza, later.
Can you make a guess on the Midwife name ...
